    Plaquenil and humira

Plaquenil is used to treat or prevent malaria, a disease caused by parasites that enter the body through the bite of a mosquito. Malaria is common in areas such as Africa, South America, and Southern Asia.

Does plaquenil cause fatigue Plaquenil side effecs

Hi, I was diagnosed on Monday with Lupus and told by my Rheumy to take Plaquenil. He said it would be fine with Humira, which is what I currently take for Ulcerative Colitis. However, I have looked at a couple of 'drug interactions' sites online and both have stated that there is a drug interaction between the two. Most patients with rheumatoid arthritis are not able to donate. There are a number of reasons blood donation is not permitted in these cases. First, many patients will be anemic. Secondly, many patients will be on DMARDs disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs, which include methotrexate and Plaquenil hydroxychloroquine." Humira adalimumab is good for treating many autoimmune conditions, but it can also cause serious side effects. Plaquenil hydroxychloroquine is an effective medication for autoimmune conditions and malaria that comes with less side effects than other DMARDs.

Plaquenil is also an antirheumatic medicine and is used to treat symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and discoid or systemic lupus erythematosus. This medicine is not effective against all strains of malaria.

  7. Just starting Arava with Humira. Would like to know any comments from those that might have taken or may still be taking Arava. Humira has been a miracle drug for me. I was taking Methotrexate with it and due to some Pulmonary problems, stopped the Meth.

Hydroxychloroquine is also an antirheumatic medicine and is used to treat symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and discoid or systemic lupus erythematosus. Photosensitivity is a common side-effect of methotrexate, plaquenil, and NSAIDs such as celebrex or advil. Photosensitivity may also be a serious side-effect of anti-TNF drugs such as cimzia, enbrel, humira, remicade, and simponi, as well as sulfasalazine.
