    Nov 28, 2010 Plaquenil reduces inflammation in many Rheumatic disorders, the mode of action is pretty complicated though so I shan't bore you with all the details, but basically it prevents your dendritic cells these are messengers for your immune system, if you will from interacting with your T-Cells a special type of white blood cell which through a convoluted and boring process, causes inflammation when an infection is found, and these basically malfunction with inflammatory disorders. But I was just gonna tell you that I was on Plaquenil for quite a while, it was not until I got off for about 4 months that I began to lose chunks of hair. So I did get back on the Plaquenil and got the hair and inflammation lined back out and then I tapered the plaquenil down to 200mg when I was originally on 400.
