    Plaquenil and stomach ulcers

The typical initial presentations range from occult bleeding causing transfusion-dependent chronic iron-deficiency anemia to severe acute gastrointestinal bleeding. Intestinal permeability and diverticulitis may occur in some patients with GAVE.

I thought it was a stomach ulcer, particularly as I tested positive in September for h-pylori. She prescribed antibiotics and omeprazole which reduces the stomach acid and allows the antibiotics to get at the h-pylori but only after she had done her own tests for it, causing another delay. This helped quite a lot with both the pain and diarrhoea. Uses. This medication is used to prevent stomach ulcers while you take NSAIDs e.g. aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, especially if you are at risk for developing ulcers or have a history of ulcers. Oral mouth and nasal nose ulcers are one of the most common features of lupus occurring in around 45% of people who have SLE. Having mucosal ulcers in the mouth or nose is one of the classification criteria used to diagnose SLE.

The main histomorphologic differential diagnosis is portal hypertension, which is often apparent from clinical findings. GAVE is characterized by dilated capillaries in the lamina propria with fibrin thrombi.

  4. Oct 24, 2013 I have a problem. I was diagnosed on October 14, 2013 with UCTD. The Rheumatologist put me on Plaquenil. I started with just one pill per day because I sometimes have side effects from new drugs. After just 4 days on Plaquenil, I had severe stomach cramps, no appetite, GERD pain, diarrhea and a migraine.
